On Goals

The crowd goes wild. Why blog?  Why have a social media, or any media, presence? Ultimately, it’s not to get tweets, retweets, likes, props, or the like.  It’s to support your work, and the work of others.

Remember that “likes” are like applause.  Certainly nice to have, but the real success is in the conversations sparked.

What are you trying to achieve? You might foster community, clear up misunderstandings, educate regarding the importance of your work, connect long- term research to day-to-day media and news.

I encourage you to set your goals, to define success for yourself in terms of the work you do.
